Czech Rhinestones Hot Fix Usage
Rhinestones can be used to accesorize & decorate dance costumes, skating dresses, evening gowns, and anything else you want! Let your creativity fly!
That said, for iron-On rhinestones, here are the basic instructions on how to use them:
(Please note, these are instructions for normal fabric, i.e. lycra, cotton, stretch satin. Please experiment with 2-5 stones on a spare piece of fabric first before proceeding with your entire dress. Czechstones.com is not responsible for any damages or losses resulting from improper application of the rhinestones.)
- Place the rhinestones on fabric in desired pattern, covering only the area that can be fully covered by an iron at a time. Remember you will be turning the fabric over in step 4, so any excessive rhinestones will just fall off if not ironed on.
- Pre-heat the iron to medium heat, or whichever heat setting your fabric can take.
- Place the heated iron directly on top of the rhinestones for 30 seconds. If your fabric is too delicate and does not take heat well, then you could try to place a thin sheet of fabric between the iron and the rhinestones. If your fabric is just too sensitive to heat, then you should avoid ironing it, and just use the good old jewellry glue method. It takes away the convenience of ironing, but it might be the only way of applying the stones!
- The rhinestones should have been glued on already by now. Reverse the fabric and heat on the backside of the rhinestones from the reverse side of the fabric for another 30 seconds. Now, the adhesive should have been well activated and very strong. So, Dance On! :)
You can create intricate sequins with rhinestones, as shown in the pictures.
